*** Installation ***

if you use AMD/ATI GPU

1- install CoreTemp ( [link] )

2- enjoy!

for Nvidia users you need to have OpenHardwareMonitor running because the is no standalone Nvidia Plugin for rainmeter (like ATI)

1- Install Open Hardware Monitor from official www.openhardwaremonitor.org.

2- Install the skin "System Information_0.9.rmskin" you downloaded.

3- Edit the Sensors names in the skins .ini (Right click on skin > Edit skin) or in files at (Documents/Rainmeter/Skins/SystemInformation0_9 ).

4- enjoy!.

Thanks :)

//FIX
There was an error in the upload the file was broken its fixed now sorry :(

What is the variable for each core when getting the Temps for each core?  The 1st core is %1 °C    Now how to get the other core Temps from OHM? Lol nevermind I figured it out. I am editing the CPU to include the Temps from each of the 4 cores . I will edit the image also to fit. (By the looks of it I have too...lol)

Only thing missing is the CPU name though. I'd like to show that. unsure how. Would you use the same method as the GPU? with AdapterName? Nooby a lil at this. Just hard to find all the info in one place to read.  Nvm there too figured that out. Just need a text String in this case. Although I did find a way through getting it from the registry.

For people who will use the NET meter: You have to enter your in/out speeds in bits, but make sure you have the right number.
If you type "10 megabits to bits" or "10 mbps to bps" in Google, it will assume you meant decimal megabits (N*1000*1000), which is NOT the number you need.

You need to convert binary Megabits (aka, Mebibits - the number your ISP gives you) to bits by taking the number and multiplying it by 1,024 twice (N*1024*1024).
You can use Google, but type in "X mibps to bps" - the "i" in "mibps" is crucial. It tells Google to use binary Megabits.

For example, TWC says I have 30 Mbps download, so I have to do 30*1024*1024 to get the right number.
If I do 30*1000*1000, I get the wrong number (hence why I was getting inaccurate percentages on this graph).

ps: great skin, like it a lot, even though I couldn't get cpu temp readings to work on either computer.

I couldn't find a way to change the temp from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Can you point me in the right direction?

This is for the NVidia version, and I am showing Fahrenheit in OHM.

Thanks in advance!

Having a similar issue to Confused321 with the actual skin registering the inputs from OHM.

Here is what OHM shows, imgur.com/sDKPm8z

and here is what the CPU_OHM.ini file shows imgur.com/oIxWPGU

However, when I try to refresh the skin, I get errors such as these. imgur.com/a/ThbcJ

Please help???

Thank you very much!!

Alright thanks... tell me if you find anything, or if you do a release with v2 that has the GPU (I was mostly waiting for that)

It probably\y has to do something with the skin being so old, and OHM being newer... out of curiosity do you know what OHM version was used when the skin was originally released?? I could try running that...

Thanks!!

I'm still getting the same error when I use an older version of OHM (0.5.1 Beta).

Could it be that I'm just putting the value into the config file incorrectly ?? :(

ok am blind xD... i just took a deeper look at your screens....
looks like the structure is different on your rig

check :
; CPU Clocks from OpenHardwareMonitor
[OHMCPUFreq]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=#MCPU#
Type=Clock
Sensor=CPU Core #1

; CPU Voltage from OpenHardwareMonitor
[OHMCPUVID]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=#WinB#
Type=Voltages
Sensor=CPU VCore

; CPU Temp from OpenHardwareMonitor
[OHMCPUTemp]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll
Hardware=#MCPU#
Type=Temperatures
Sensor=Core #1 - #4
-----------------------------------------------

you see the sensors names and type ? thy dont match the OHM structure try and change them to match OHM

aaaaand soorryy :D

ooky

- First your setup got no VID (aka voltage) sensors OHM can read so .. scratch that
- Clocks your ini file says the sensor is "CPU Core #1 - #4" OHM got no such an entry so change that to "CPU Core #1"
- Temperature same as clocks there is no 1 to 4 so change it to "CPU Package" just like in OHM

Hi,

afaik the OHM plugin is outdated now specially on win 8
so just use the core temp skin and remove the OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll from C:\Users\[your username here]\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter\Plugins

and it won't crash anymore

if the GPU.ini skin dosent work for your ati card
use GPUnvidia.ini  and edit the measures / sensors names

there is MGPU= (@ line 27) add the gpu name as it reads in OHM and it should work

first in  "MGPU=xxx" you put the CPU name not GPU
it should be
"MGPU=ATI mobility....." (copy from OHM)

Rainmeter newbie here.  If someone would share an 8 core version (hopefully of CPU_Mini) it would be much appreciated.  Otherwise this is just what I need - thanks!

(CPU_OHM crashes Rainmeter for me too, but I don't need to use it.)

Hey there,

I just installed your skin, looks great. Really nice work, good stuff!!! Thank you!

However (sorry!) when adjusting the temperatures of my 660 (correctly including the sensor labels & model ID from OHM) I noticed I can only include 1 temperate of a single core in the graph. So where by default in the CPU_OHM.ini file @ line 65, I had to adjust it to be "Sensor=CPU Core #1" as opposed to "Sensor=Core #1 - #4" because it seems a) the skin can't take an average of all cores and b) the label is incorrect - as pointed out - it should be "CPU Core #1" not "Core #1". Though this is strange that there is no comments from anyone else with this issue... I can only assume everyone else is AMD/ATI.

None the less, this is fantastic and I love it. Sleek, clean, simple and clear. It's easier to see your status by the form of graphs than anything else - bars and numbers aren't pretty enough for my dull eyes ;-)

Hi,

glad you like it

the problem is OHM lables/sensors are not the same on all hardware
so the skin (specially with OHM) is not ready out of the box you need to tweak it to fit :/

+1 for a fellow graphs lover :D

Is it possible to change the graphs at all? As the graphs are currently acting as if they're reading analogue readings, as in they spike up when there is even 1byte being uploaded/downloaded. It would be awesome if they scaled if a maximum capacity was stated, e.g. my connection is 30mbps - as if it's anywhere near that! haha but it would be cool to see the graphs display to ratio :-P

Hi Ahmed, I love your skins! I've a couple questions though:

1: I have an i7-3930k processor with six cores (12 logical ones). Does your usage meter read both logical cores as one? So if a program was running a core at 100% but the hyper-threading wasn't being used, would it read 50%? And if so, is it very easy for you to create a couple more png files with different colors? I've no idea how to do that! (So that I could have six).

2: Is it possible to have a setting so that instead of a line drawing the usage, if it filled solid below it?

Thanks!

Hi Jack,

glad you like it :)

#1) i guess you're using "Coretemp" right ?? here : www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic…
if you're using "OHM" then no idea :P try ask on there forums or something, my skin only displays the readings from these softweres

about the colors i should have the PSD file somewhere i think i can make more colors

#2) yes its possible you just need to change the meter type from "line" to "histogram"
see: docs.rainmeter.net/manual/mete…

i also have version 2 half finished.. it should have more options out of the box like more cores, custom colors and HDD skin
Reply
:iconjackkend76:
Jackkend76 Featured By Owner Mar 1, 2014
Yes, I do use coretemp. I was just curious if each "core" in your skin represented both logical cores or just one on a single core.

More colors would be awesome! If I had two more I could set it up satisfactorily I think.

I can't wait to see the new version! I've bookmarked this page so I can check it regularly :)

Thank you for the quick reply!
